深度工作的稀缺性正在抬高它的职业价值

《Deep Work》的起点是一处供需错位。复杂工具越来越多，学习它们需要长时间集中；网络又让作品越过地域直接竞争，稍好一点的音乐家、程序员或写作者就可能拿走很大一部分市场。真正能持续专注的人却越来越少。

我在 可扩展职业 那里也写到这一点。作品、代码和录音可以反复分发，新增一位读者或用户时，不再增加同等劳动。互联网让最好的天赋不受本地市场限制，顶级作品可以面向全球，竞争也会变得更激烈。这里和 长尾 的关系很微妙。选择增加以后，市场一面容纳更多小众作品，一面也让头部作品更容易取得远超平均的回报。

纽波特把这种职业优势拆成两种能力：迅速学会困难的东西，以及用足够高的质量和速度完成产出。只会还不够，潜在能力必须变成别人真正需要的结果。后一层见 高质量产出取决于时间和专注强度的乘积。
